PARP 44 – Amateur Radio on a budget

Podcast Number 44 – Podcast ver. 44.4 – July 16, 2011 (30.0 MB, runtime 26:14)

Transcript

We are back with another episode of The Practical Amateur Radio Podcast.  In this episode I discuss ham radio on a budget.  I believe it is a misconception that ham radio has to be an expensive and mostly unaffordable hobby.  There are options and I discuss and ask you to think about what it is you want to get from the hobby.

During “Our Featured Website” segment I ask you to take a close look at your amateur radio club website and I share some thoughts on what your club and the hobby is possibly missing out on.

This episode also includes the “Featured Gadget” segment and I share one idea for displaying all those QSL cards you receive.

Transcript

We are back with the much anticipated and long awaited episode 42.  In this episode I share with you some of the ingredients which led to my burnout of amateur radio.  Please understand I am making no excuses as I’m a “no excuses” kind of guy.  But I wanted to share with all the things that took place over the summer in the hopes that what I experienced can be a lessons learned and others might not have to endure.

Our featured website segment is about CollegeARC.  Please visit their website at CollegeARC.com

Our featured gadget for this episode is Dropbox.  I discuss how I use Dropbox in the ham shack and in other areas of my life.  You can sign up for a Dropbox account using this referral link here.
